Blandford Forum is a traditional market with Georgian architecture, a great market place and a historic parish church. The town is ideally situated in the north of Dorset on the banks of the River Stour making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. Much of the town was destroyed in the 18th century and has since been rebuilt. You can learn more about the history of the town if you visit Blandford Museum. One of the biggest attractions in the town is The Great Dorset Stem Fair which is a great day out for families. It is the World’s largest heritage site with over 2,000 exhibits. There is also Kingston Lacy which is country mansion dating back to the 17th century. There are lovely gardens and the estate stretches over 8500 acres.
