The town of Haverfordwest was established over 1000 years ago dating back to Elizabethan times. The town was one of the major ports in Wales until railways were introduced in the mid 1850s. One of the major attractions is castle which overlooks the town which was built around 1110. You can visit the towns museum which is situated within the castles walls and was previously the old prison govenor’s house. Along the banks of the river are the ruins of an Augustinian Priory which is well worth a visit to take in this lovely setting. For families there is the countries first trampoline park a few miles north in Haverfordwest.
