The market town of Ellesmere is close to the B&B and features the Llangollen canal designed and built by Thomas Telford. There is a new marina and a new wharf side development. Other local attractions include Colemere Country Park (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and the Iron Age hill fort of Old Oswestry.
