The White House is a delightful 15th Century Grade II listed manor house set in one acre of attractive gardens providing a relaxing atmosphere for all. The centre of Takeley is close by and within less than a 90-minute drive you can reach Colchester, Bishop’s Stortford, Stevenage and London. Being located close to Stansted Airport (1.5 miles, but not on the flight path), The White House is the perfect venue for travellers going to and from the airport.

We aim to provide a place where guests feel comfortable and right at home from the moment they arrive. All rooms include a TV, a coffee machine, kettle, complimentary mineral water, hairdryer and Wi-Fi internet access.

We have more than 14 years of experience, and we’re full members of the AA, and they’re recently awarded us four gold stars. We’re also highly recommended by the English Tourist Board. Refurbished expertly by Mike and Linda, we offer first-class bed and breakfast accommodation. We can also offer parking whilst you are away, please ask for details.

The White House is conveniently situated for easy access to East Anglia’s many attractions including Hatfield Forest National Trust, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Cambridge and Newmarket Races as well as the City of London by road or rail.
